Anyone who knows me well understands I’m an absolute sucker for a deal. Half-off for happy hour? I’m there. BOGO? Sounds good. Last-minute flight deals? Sign me up/ where are we going?
I’ve been traveling the world for over 17 years now, and I’ve used so many different tactics and tricks to score the best flight deals (especially during my younger days when I was utterly broke and needed to save every penny for street food and 7-11 toasties in Thailand).
From booking student discounts (damn, do I miss being 25), travel hacking with credit card miles, being flexible with dates/ destinations, and using companies that will show you all of the best flight options.
That’s why I’m super happy to be partnering with Going – which some of you may be familiar with their old name Scott’s Cheap Flights. I initially signed up for a membership back in 2019 and absolutely loved getting flight deals and travel inspiration straight to my email inbox.
And since their impressive company rebrand, Going has really grown and elevated the company by offering an amazing user-friendly app to help you find the best possible deals from your chosen airports, and you can set flight alerts to get notified about deals when you have a destination or time frame in mind!
These were my inbox alerts from Scott’s Cheap Flights. So many amazing deals in here!
Why You Should Sign-up For Going
First off – there’s a TOTALLY FREE membership available you can sign-up for to get a taste of their service to understand how it works.
That’s right. FREE.
You can join for a limited membership, which still is incredibly useful and quite a powerful tool for finding continental USA flight deals. You simply choose your preferred departure airports (up to 3), and you’ll get instant access to flight deals for all over the country.
How Going Works To Find the Best Deals
When you sign-up for a membership, you’ll be asked to choose your main airports. When I’m back stateside, I’m either in Seattle or California, so have chosen those airport to receive the main deals for.
These are my current airport settings
You can add plenty more though if you’re flexible and travel frequently (which then you absolutely need to sign up) and want to receive a ton more of variety as there are some crazy deals. But if you do ant to add more than 3 departure airports, you’ll need to sign up for a Premium or Elite membership.
Check out below what my personal dashboard looks like as a limited member. You’ll see round-trip deals from Seattle to Oakland for $137, Chicago for $100, and Las Vegas for $90-$100!
For my fellow travel addicts – it’s a TON of fun to explore and browse through all the flight specials (even with a limited membership).
And to reiterate because I think it’s important, the website is incredibly responsive, user-friendly, and objectively beautiful.
Moreover, believe it or not, the Going app is an even better experience for members, but I’ll discuss that a bit later on how to access these flight deals at your fingertips!
There’s even filters for specific destinations, airlines, alliances, months, stops, seating class, deal types, and travel experiences you’re looking for (beach, mountains, national parks, family-friendly, etc).
As a professional travel blogger, it’s also just an exciting way to find some travel inspiration for destinations that aren’t typically on my radar but are well worth a visit if I can find the right deal.
Take for example this deal to Bozeman, Montana for $157 round-trip (which according to their Travel Experts is typically $295+).
Plus, when you click on the specific flight deal webpage, there is a ton of data you can browse at the bottom like deal threshold, price history, the average deal price, and the best deal that a customer has been able to find – as well as how long these deals will typically last!
It’s simply loaded with data for my travel-hacking / analytical people so you can really get a full picture of this specific route and flight deal
Premium Membership Details
Now if you’re anything like me, you actually prefer international travel and love hopping across oceans to explore new countries!
This is when you’re going to want to sign-up for either their Premium or Elite Memberships!
You really can’t go wrong with either option, but if you want to find those exclusive and amazing international flight prices and those jaw-dropping mistake fare deals, you’ll need a membership. They’re quite similar but the main difference is the seating class:
- Economy Seats Flight Deals – Premium Membership
- Premium Economy, Business, and First class – Elite Membership
If you’re more of a luxury traveler, an Elite membership will honestly pay for itself after finding you just ONE insane deal in first/business class.
How Going Finds These Deals
Now this might be surprising in today’s age of AI software taking over the internet , but the majority of Going’s incredible flight deals are hand-picked by their real human Travel Experts. They don’t just chuck any cheap flight onto their website — they carefully curate only the best of the best that they believe users will find helpful.
They also have specific criteria they follow, so there are no dreaded overnight layovers, no endless airport haunts, and definitely no budget airlines with ridiculous baggages fees.
Instead, Going focuses on snagging you nonstop or one-stop flights on full-service airlines with smooth, manageable layovers. Plus, every deal comes with a wide variety different departure dates, so you’re never locked into just one option.
Now, you could be able to find all of these deals yourself if you’re an expert at Google Flights (where the majority of these deals are going to be booked), but utilizing Going is like having your own personal travel-planning expert.
The Going App
With just a few taps, you’re unlocking jaw-dropping fares to dream destinations!
If you’re similar to me, you’ll also be doing a decent amount of your travel research/planning on your phone, and the Going app is like having a travel-savvy best friend in your pocket who’s obsessed with finding you those incredible flight deals!
The app’s interface is simply sleek, fun, and easy to use! And the flight alerts? Absolutely inspiring! It’s basically the ultimate travel hack for spontaneous adventurers and savvy planners alike.
I love how you can scroll around the world and find inspiration and deals to different airports, such as these deals below to Bali for $813 or Australia for only $629! Download the app today and you’ll be hooked!
My Going Review
While there are some pros and cons to most travel hacks these days, I’d say Going is a no-brainer since it’s completely free to test-out and trial for yourself! The only major con is that it really only currently benefits US-based travelers, but I’d say the future of Going is bright as they’ve really grown so much in the last 6 years since I first discovered them!
Once you get a small taste of what they offer, I’m sure you’ll be a fellow Going addict like I’ve become!
